I went to Kanatal in a group and i love the place. This trip was organized by True Travellers ( Mint Nischal – The Organizer ). She is very nice and kind girl and the people in group were very very good , specially Rajesh ji and Sky bhai, I enjoyed with them alot and thanks for such a nice trip.

There is a place kanatal which is located in Uttarakhand. I feel this is one of best place in Uttarakhand to get in natural beauty and adventure travel.

Where is Kanatal ?
Kanatal is a small village in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Kanatal is 78 km from Dehradun (capital of the State Uttarakhand), 38 km from Mussoorie and 12 km from Chamba. It is on the Chamba-Mussoorie road and nearly 300 km from Delhi.
Located in the picturesque settings of the Garhwal Himalayas, the charming hill station of Kanatal is a perfect weekend getaway for the weary souls. Encircled by the sun-kissed peaks and the velvety coniferous trees, Kanatal still remains relatively unexplored.
The tiny hamlet of Kanatal is perched at an elevation of 8,500 feet above sea level on Mussoorie – Chamba road. Kanatal is a perfect winter destination as it snows here and is also an ideal place for camping.
How to Reach Kanatal From Delhi
The best way to travel to Kanatal is by road. Being a very small town, it does not have an airport or railways station of its own. The nearest airport is the Dehradun Airport, while the nearest stations are located in Dehradun and Rishikesh. Kanatal is connected to the nearby places in Uttarakhand and you can easily find a taxi or bus from any of the major towns in the State.
How to Reach Kanatal by Flight
Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airbase to Kanatal well connected to many major cities like Delhi via daily flights. Taxi can be taken outside the airport for a comfortable ride of 3 hours to your destination.

Places To Visit Near Kanatal
1. New Tehri
New Tehri is a city and a municipal board in Tehri Garhwal District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is the administrative seat of Tehri Garhwal District. This urban municipality area has 11 wards, from Vidhi Vihar to Vishwakarma Puram

Dhanaulti includes an area with two eco-parks, “Amber” and “Dhara”, about 200 m apart. They have been developed by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand. It houses a protected patch of small forest containing Deodar Trees. The adventure sports facility is available for visitors in the form of walking over the flying fox and burma bridges and riding horses. There is also a facility for visitors to plant a sapling of tree species in the memory of their beloved, which is called as memory sapling plantation.Mussoorie Forest Department is running eco-huts for tourists.

Kaudia Forest is a very nice picnic spot and popular for hiking in Kanatal. A level walk of 6 kms will show dense forests opening into a vast expanse of undulating hills and valleys. Tiny, gurgling natural springs are along the way. The track can be used by the jeeps. One could easily spot a few wild animals as well.
The trek begins with a narrow dirt track and unfolds into a plateau that then leads to dense forests, undulating hills, spectacular views of the valley below and natural springs. also can do jeep safari from Kanatal to Kaudia forest.

Chamba is a town in the Chamba district in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. According to the 2001 Indian census the town is situated on the banks of the Ravi River, at its confluence with the Sal River. Chambial were the Rulers of Chamba State Chambials use suffix Varmans.

In 920, Raja Sahil Varman (or Raja Sahil Verma) shifted the capital of the kingdom to Chamba, following the specific request of his daughter Champavati (Chamba was named after her). From the time of Raju Maru, 67 Rajas of this dynasty ruled over Chamba until it finally merged with the Indian Union in April 1948, although Chamba was under British suzerainty from 1846 to this time.

The second highest point is the original Lal Tibba in Landour, with a height of over 2,275 metres (7,464 ft). Mussoorie is popularly known as The Queen of the Hills
6. Surkanda Devi Temple

Surkanda Devi is a Hindu temple situated close to the small resort hamlet of Dhanaulti in the village Uniyal gaon of Tehri District. It is at an altitude of about 2510 metres lies close to nearby hill stations of Dhanaulti and Chamba walking distance of approx 3 km from Kaddukhal, the place where vehicles are parked.
It is surrounded by dense forests and affords a scenic view of the surrounding region including the Himalayas to the north, and certain cities to the south (e.g., Dehradun, Rishikesh) The Ganga Dusshera festival is celebrated every year between May and June and attracts a lot of people. This is a temple which is situated among the trees of rounslii. It is covered with fog most of the time of the year.
Things you can do in Kanatal
Camping is one of the best things to do in Kanatal. Enveloped in lush green vegetation, you can spend some leisure time relaxing under the stars, or sit by the bonfire, or take part in the various adventure activities and indoor-outdoor games organized at the camp.
2. Valley Crossing
Valley Crossing is another one of the interesting things to do in Kanatal. The activity requires you to be tied to a rope and cross a 80ft deep valley by pulling the other end of the rope. To perform this activity, you will need to be physically fit as it consumes a lot of strength and energy.
3. Rappelling and Rock Climbing
Kanatal has got a rocky mountainous terrain which is ideal for adventure sports like rock climbing and rappelling. For the same reason, the town attracts adventure enthusiasts in huge numbers to come and undertake these activities.
